Christ centered learning for Christ centered living.
First St. John Dayschool provides Christian Education in a child-centered environment that promotes problem solving, creativity, cooperation, and individual choice.
The faculty and staff recognize that it is a responsibility and privilege to be trusted by God and our school families to help mold and develop the character of each student.
First St. John JAM (Jesus and Me)
Anyone interested in a fun place for your child on Sunday morning? Bring your child to JAM held in the basement of the church. Your child will have a good time singing and learning about Jesus!
First St. John Lutheran Church
For more than 150 years as a Lutheran congregation and almost a half century as a Lutheran School, First St. John has been serving the Toledo area and beyond, called through faith to share the Good News, gather in worship, and serve the community. We are glad to welcome you to learn more about this faith community and to join us in worship, learning, friendship, and Christian service. We hope you find time to read our newsletter and check out our calendar to see His works throughout this community and school.
First St. John Dayschool Open House is March 3!
An Open House giving the community an opportunity to see our school and all we have to offer will be held Tuesday, March 3 from 6:00 pm-8:00pm. Registrations from those children already enrolled and the children of the congregation have been coming in steadily. Please help us spread the word about our school and the registration process that has begun.
My personal prayer is that we have a strong enrollment by June. If you know of anyone who is looking for a quality Christian school, please encourage them to come, see, and experience the awesome program we have to offer. Many of you have already sent families our way and we appreciate it! Word of mouth has always been the best advertisement for the Dayschool.
Have you considered signing your child up for our awesome summer program? Imagination Station, Nature’s Nursery, Botanical Gardens, Toledo Library, are all among the list of presentations scheduled to visit our school. And that is just the tip of the iceberg of the fun we have planned!

Annual Mom-To-Mom Sale
Our annual Mom-To-Mom Resale will be here before you know it! The date this year is Saturday, March 7 beginning at 8:30 (earlybird)/9:30 AM. We would love for you to participate by selling your gently used items to other parents. You can sign up for a table by clicking here and sending registration and payment to:
2471 Seaman Street
Toledo, Ohio 43605
Beyond renting a table, you can get involved in a couple of other ways:
- Come and Shop — there will be a space filled with gently used children’s items for your little ones.
- Donate — even if you don’t rent a table or join to shop, we would love to accept your donations of gently used children’s items.
We are looking forward to another wonderful event and hope to see you there!
First St. John Dayschool + Amazon Smile
Do you use Amazon for your online purchases? Considering that most of us do, we have partnered with Amazon Smile to help you give back to First St. John Dayschool! The process is simple: click here to link your Amazon profile to Amazon Smile and 0.05% of all of your purchases will come directly back to the school. Also, while a little confusing, remember for future purchases to log into smile.amazon.com (as opposed to regular amazon.com) to continue to support this worthwhile cause. We thank you for taking the 30 seconds to set this up and all the rewards your little ones will get in the future.
Letter of Appeal
It is our privilege and honor from God to be guiding your children through these pivotal years in development. In order to continue to do so, we ask you to read this letter from Reverend Robert S. Noble (Mason’s grandpa) asking you for your continued support in this vital ministry. You can read the full letter here: 2014 Letter of Appeal.
“Over forty years ago the congregation at First St. John saw a need to serve their community with a faith based preschool and daycare center. Through the years literally thousands of families have entrusted their children to begin their education at First St. John’s. We all know and understand that in these first formative years patterns for lifelong learning are set. The students of First St. John’s not only receive this important educational foundation, but they also receive these educational principles rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
